Speaker Profile:


Dr Marie Joseph MBBS FRCP is the lead consultant in Palliative Medicine at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. She has been specialising in palliative medicine since 1989, and with a passion for cancer pain management. Her expertise lies in the management of ‘opioid induced hyperalgesia’ by the judicious and timely use of co-analgesic adjuvants with modest opioid doses.
Dr Joseph is an accredited RCP educator, her teaching emphasises on the importance of combining clinical excellence with empathy in caring for patients. She is currently in the process of writing a book entitled ‘The Pain of Cancer’, hopefully to be published later this year.
