We are pleased to announce registration is now available for this joint BOPA and UK ATMP pharmacy study day.

This event will focus on Immunotherapy: Beyond Checkpoint Inhibitors and the rapidly evolving role of bispecific antibodies, and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) in solid tumours.

Please note: This study day is open to paid BOPA members ONLY.

Why this matters:

As bispecifics and ATMPs move beyond haematology and into solid tumour management, pharmacy teams will play a critical role in governance, preparation, delivery, and toxicity management. This study day aims to upskill senior pharmacy staff and support services preparing for TILs, BITEs, cancer vaccines, oncolytic viruses, and other emerging therapies.

Who should attend

Senior Technicians, Senior Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers and colleagues involved in ATMP implementation across cancer services.
We welcome pharmacy professionals who are new to, or have limited experience of, ATMPs and bispecifics. Your participation is essential as we work to future-proof would learning and development of the pharmacy workforce in advanced therapies.

Draft programme highlights

  • Overview of ATMPs in solid tumours — definitions, clinical need, and therapeutic positioning
  • Governance & legality — operational and regulatory considerations for pharmacy
  • Horizon scanning (NHSE)
  • Learning from haematology — lymphodepletion, non‑myeloablative chemo, supportive care
  • Deep dive into TILs — clinical perspective, case study, toxicity management
  • BITEs — AE management and practical considerations
  • Workshops:
    • Clinical, technical & logistical roles
    • Accreditation & legislation
    • Education & training requirements
    • Challenges for different service models (CAR‑T centres vs non‑haematology centres)

We are also expecting contributions from colleagues at specialist hospital centres across the UK.

We look forward to seeing many of you there.
