Assessment and treatment of frail patientns living with multiple myeloma. A guideline on behalf of the UK Myeloma Research Alliance Frailty Group

Enjoy an article published in the British Journal of Haematology by BOPA member Hannah Miller, a committee member of the UK Myeloma Society Pharmacy Group, member of the UK Myeloma Research Alliance Frailty Group and the BOPA Geriatric-Oncology Special Advisory Group. The article gives an overview of the importance of frailty in Multiple Myeloma patients, and the various tools and assessments available. It goes on to give some recommendations around suggested practice for assessment of frailty in the MM patient cohort, together with treatment considerations in less fit patients. It then suggests a practical guide to dose modifications for specific regimens, and how these could be implemented in routine practice. Additional recommendations have me made around supportive therapies, and potential future directions of care.
