My Research Webinar – Role of the Pharmacist in Geriatric Oncology

We would like to invite you to join our  ‘My Research’ sessions. These sessions are delivered by members that have undertaken an audit or evaluation. They will spend time describing their career pathway and discuss the research methods that they used. There will be time for detailed questions following the talk. These sessions will enable members to learn about quantitative and qualitative methods and the learning may guide and help you in your future projects. We also hope that this will be a good opportunity to learn about different career pathways in cancer pharmacy.

 

The session will be delivered by: Vanya Slavova-Boneva

Vanya Slavova-Boneva, Specialist Senior Adult Oncology Programme (SAOP)/Haemato-Oncology Pharmacist

Vanya has been a pharmacist for over 20 years, working in a variety of different areas of the pharmacy profession from community pharmacies and pharmaceutical industry to different teaching hospitals in Bulgaria and UK.
She specialised in oncology in 2014 taking on both technical and clinical roles, completing Diploma in General Pharmacy practice in 2014 and qualifying as an independent prescriber in 2019.
As a Oncology Pharmacist, Vanya has experience in haemato-oncology/solid tumors and currently works as a part of multidisciplinary SAOP team which aim is to deliver personalised and holistic care for patients with cancer aged ≥70 years.
Her specialist clinical areas are geriatric-oncology, solid tumours, haemato-oncology cancers and she works with the clinical teams at the Royal Marsden Hospital to ensure that patients with cancer get the most out of their medicines.

-Webinars will start at 19:00 GMT and will last about 30 minutes to 1 hour

-The Zoom link for the webinar will be sent on the day of the event around 17:00pm (if you would like the link before this time please email [email protected])

-Webinars are FREE to access for BOPA Paid and BOPA FREE Members

-Webinars will be recorded and appear in the BOPA eLearning section of the website via this LINK
