Community pharmacy training programme and guidance for supporting patients receiving oral anticancer therapy

Dear BOPA Member,

Please see details of a community pharmacy training programme and guidance for supporting patients receiving oral anticancer therapy. The purpose of the training programme is to provide a training template for community pharmacy to those wishing to adopt a new model of care for patients receiving oral SACT. For this programme to be effective it will need interest from both secondary care and community pharmacy stakeholders. The guidance document provides information on a model of care whereby patients are referred to community pharmacy from secondary care for extra support with their oral SACT. Both of these documents were developed during a Darzi Fellowship. They have been shared so that others wishing to set up a similar model of care can adapt these documents for relevance to their needs. Feel free to contact the author if you require any further information (Melanie Dalby, [email protected]).
