BOPA Annual Report 2025 – BOPA

Welcome to the 2025 BOPA Annual Report.

The last year has been another excellent year for BOPA. As you can see from our report – so much has happened again over the last year. Our annual report celebrates the success of all groups within BOPA and all our members who dedicate so much of their time to bettering patient care. BOPA’s Vision and Strategy is a big focus for us over the coming years where we are wanting to optimise our constitution propelling BOPA into a sustainable and focused future. The creation of the BOPA Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in the coming year is also stabilising the foundations of BOPA and future proofing our organisation. A personal note from myself now. My first BOPA conference was in 2016 in Manchester and  from this moment BOPA has been a sort of family to me, has inspired me and has been a key part of my professional identity. I worked my way up through the BOPA Digital Subcommittee and joined the BOPA Executive Team in 2019. Throughout the past 6 years, I have been BOPA Secretary, BOPA Vice Chair and more recently BOPA Chair for the past 3 years. Why am I telling you this? Well after 3 years of being BOPA Chair, I am stepping down from this role. I would love to continue being Chair for the rest of my career, but I believe this is frowned upon – and it is time to handover this role to the amazing Shereen and Michal. I will always be part of BOPA, its subcommittees and trustee board – and I will be in a Past Chair/Vice Chair role until October 2026. I will also be continuing in my role with the UK SACT Board and the UK PPL Board for another year. BOPA has allowed me to meet amazing people across the UK and the world – thank you to everyone for all your support over the years. Let’s keep BOPA growing and thriving – I will be with the team every step of the way. I would finally like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who has been involved with making BOPA the success it is. Our incredible members, our Executive and subcommittee teams always find the time to help with our many workstreams so that we can support our profession and most importantly help improve care for our patients. It has been the privilege of my life to be Chair of BOPA and I have never taken this opportunity provided to me by BOPA members for granted. I will always care deeply about our BOPA Cancer Pharmacy family – and I am committed to its ongoing success.

Joseph Williams (BOPA Chair – 2022 to 2025)
