The aim of the immunotherapy specialist advisory group is to promote excellence in the pharmaceutical care of cancer patients receiving immunotherapy-based systemic anti-cancer therapy. The group will encourage collaborative working across the profession and the wider MDT to ensure clinical, research, governance, service development and education aims are met.
Role of the group:
To act as a key stakeholder for pharmaceutical issues relating to immunotherapy medicine and service delivery
To provide a platform and peer-supported forum for pharmacy professionals who are involved or interested in the area of immunotherapy
Promote the group to the wider BOPA membership to ensure information is disseminated widely across the country
To identify key priorities for immunotherapy medicine to ensure services are delivered safely and effectively
To support the professional development of pharmacy services as key to designing innovative models of service delivery to improve patient care
To share best practice and challenges relating to immunotherapy
To develop and deliver education and training opportunities in immunotherapy
To build a framework/infrastructure for collaborative working to facilitate delivery of a programme of audit and research in the field of immunotherapy
To provide expert opinion toward national initiatives relating to immunotherapy in oncology/haematology

There are several affiliated groups with BOPA. The groups and BOPA work together jointly to promote excellence in the pharmaceutical care of patients with cancer through education, communication, research or innovation.
There are several subcommittees & working groups that report directly to the Executive Committee each month. These subcommittees & working groups support the executive committee and keep the organisation at the forefront of care.
The Executive Committee work on behalf of the BOPA members to prioritise and co-ordinate the many activities and workstreams required to achieve our goals
