Elaine Vickers‘ New YouTube Playlist: Cancer Treatment

Elaine Vickers, creator of the UTIC course, has just produced a second YouTube playlist, this time explaining the mechanism of action of various types of cancer treatments. You can find all of them here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYnRO4eibmUtLH14gJezYxxf-CU11pcAU&feature=shared

Her new videos, which are all between 4 and 8 minutes long, would be great preparation for anyone thinking of working through the UTIC course.

They also follow on from her earlier playlist on cancer cell biology and genetics, called Cancer Basics: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYnRO4eibmUv5JxfyJe0XUeXpsMSoemaH&feature=shared

In the new Cancer Treatments videos, Elaine explains why we use small molecules and antibodies as cancer treatments. She also describes how chemotherapy and hormone therapy work. And she introduces both targeted therapies and immunotherapies, with separate videos on kinase inhibitors, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and cell-based treatments.

In addition to creating videos, Elaine offers in-person and live online study days and courses. If you would like to contact Elaine directly to arrange teaching for yourself and your colleagues, please contact Elaine at [email protected].
