E-consent framework guidance – now available on the CRUK website

Dear All

Re Guidance on Electronic Consent

This guidance document is written by the e-consent working group which is part of the National Regimen Specific CRUK SACT Consent Form project. The document is available on the CRUK website at: www.cruk.org/sact_consent.

It is intended for NHS SACT providers to introduce and facilitate the implementation of the consent forms electronically.

Due to the complexity of the IT infrastructure and varied electronic patient record and chemotherapy prescribing systems across the NHS, the project team cannot provide one single national solution.
The e-consent working group has therefore outlined several solutions by linking in with potential providers who are able to deliver e-consent.

Each NHS organisation may then decide which particular solution will be best suited to their systems and financial constraints.

This guidance is intended to help NHS organisations to decide which e-consent solution would configure most efficiently and effectively by defining a framework specified by the electronic consent working group.

We hope that you find this guidance useful in planning this way of obtaining consent.

Please share with your colleagues.

Let us know if there are any questions you have regarding this.

With best wishes
