Cancer Medicines Outcome Programme (CMOP) Job Opportunity

Looking for a new challenge? Want to work in a beautiful part of Scotland? Then look no further…..

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the expansion of the Cancer Medicines Outcome Programme (CMOP) for a dynamic, forward-thinking pharmacist to join the existing CMOP team with a specific remit to support the expansion of the programme within the North Cancer Alliance (NCA) which covers the six North of Scotland Health Boards (Grampian, Highland, Tayside, Orkney, Shetland and Western Isles). CMOP is a collaborative project being undertaken with the University of Strathclyde to explore the capability of existing NHS data systems to determine the clinical effectiveness of cancer medicines in the real life setting. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be leading on specific projects within CMOP to utilise existing NHS data systems and to develop new processes to determine clinical outcomes for cancer medicines. You will be based within one of the North of Scotland Health Boards and will also provide a clinical pharmacy service to a cancer clinical area, possibly as a non-medical prescriber, for one session (half day) per week.

This post requires excellent clinical knowledge, communication and negotiation skills with experience of influencing senior members of the multidisciplinary team in delivering patient care. Experience of working within acute care and in particular within cancer is highly desirable but not essential. You are required to have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and will be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council with significant post registration experience. A Postgraduate diploma or equivalent qualification / experience plus an independent prescriber qualification is also required.

Hours: 18.75 hours per week,
Contract: 24 months

For further information or an informal discussion, please contact Judith Jordan, Regional Lead Pharmacist, North Cancer Alliance ([email protected]) or Kelly Baillie, Interim Lead Clinical Effectiveness Pharmacist – CMOP ([email protected])
