Call for BOPA Award nominations

It’s awards time – call for nominations!

  • We have had lots of positive feedback from the introduction of the awards dinner at the annual conference, and we are now calling for nominations for 2026.
  • In addition to The Above and Beyond Award, we are excited to launch a new award, The BOPA EDI Excellence Award
  • The criteria for each are set out below, and the window for nomination will stay open until 31st July 2026.

Inclusion in Action: Cancer Pharmacy Champion – EDI award nominations

We’re pleased to launch the BOPA EDI Excellence Award, recognising individuals and teams who are actively advancing equity, diversity and inclusion in cancer pharmacy.

This award celebrates individuals and teams trying to make differences for the underserved population, by removing barriers, addressing inequalities, and improving access, experience and outcomes.

Who should you nominate?
Colleagues who are:

  • Improving care for patients experiencing inequalities
  • Embedding inclusive practices into everyday work
  • Driving change across teams or services

This might include work on language access, culturally sensitive care, addressing socioeconomic barriers, improving services for LGBTQ+ patients, supporting patients with disabilities, or tackling racial and ethnic disparities in cancer outcomes.

How to nominate:
Send us:

  • Your details
  • Nominee name(s) and email (with consent)
  • A supporting statement (up to 500 words) describing how the nominee has championed equity, diversity and inclusion in their practice

Take a moment to recognise those helping make cancer care more equitable, their work deserves to be seen.

BOPA Above and Beyond

The Above and Beyond Award celebrates individuals and teams going over and above what is expected of them in the workplace. It is to celebrate those achievements of BOPA members that often go unnoticed; to celebrate colleagues who deserve recognition for how hard they work for patients, or who go that extra mile for colleagues, irrespective of grade/position.

Why you decide to nominate is up to you. You can nominate for any reason you would like but some suggestions include;

  • a specific incident/project to celebrate
  • you may work with someone who is an exceptional team player
  • there maybe someone in your team who you consider a fantastic role model, or goes out of their way to support and inspire the people they work with

We encourage creativity, and nominations can be made for either an individual colleague, or for a team. This is your opportunity to showcase the work of your hardworking pharmacy colleagues and tell BOPA all about them.

Please provide your name, the name of the person/people you wish to nominate and then write up to 500 words to outline why they should be considered for the ‘Above and Beyond’ Award. We look forward to reading all about them.
