BOPA response to the report of the UK Commission on Pharmacy Professional Leadership

BOPA welcomes publication of the report of the UK Commission on Pharmacy Professional Leadership, with its focus on the future of the pharmacy profession. BOPA shares the ambitions outlined within this report and the vision for a model of leadership which supports greater collaboration between established professional leadership groups. While we are disappointed to not have been consulted as part of the initial stakeholder engagement, we are pleased that this report acknowledges the significant contribution of pharmacy professional leadership groups, including BOPA, to support pharmacy professionals to meet the challenges of delivering exceptional care to patients.

This publication makes a number of significant recommendations, which are likely to have a substantial impact on the future of the pharmacy profession. BOPA is committed to representing the views of its members and representing their interests in all of our undertakings. We would encourage all BOPA members to carefully consider the contents and recommendations outlined within this report.

BOPA is working closely with the UK Commission on Pharmacy Professional Leadership, and the UK Chief Pharmaceutical Officers, to develop a model which is inclusive of the range of professional leaderships bodies and which best represents the interests of all pharmacy professionals.
