2020 Elections to the BOPA Executive Committee: Call for nomination of members

2020 Elections to the BOPA Executive Committee:
Call for nomination of members

BOPA is looking for new committee members who are dedicated to furthering the association’s aims and who are willing, and able, to spend time helping to run the organisation. Those elected will be involved in developing the e-based learning packages, taking forward our publications and guidelines, contributing to national objectives, supporting our subcommittees and arranging the highly regarded annual conference.

The executive committee work as a team, supporting each other on behalf of our members. The committee has a streamlined format to fit in with busy work schedules for its regular meetings, consisting of a 2-hour web conference once every month, with up to a maximum of two face-to-face meetings during the year. Web conferences can be accessed from anywhere that has a phone and a computer. You will be expected to attend a minimum of 50% of committee meeting every year, and everyone gets a chance to lead on something from our work plan.

This is a really exciting opportunity to shape the BOPA work plan as well as giving you great experience of working at a national level and building links and relationships with colleagues from across the UK.

This year we are looking for the following positions to fill:

• New to oncology representative (up to 2 years oncology experience)
• Independent sector representative
• 2 standard committee members

Applicants must be registered UK pharmacists or technicians and current paid BOPA members

*Pharmacists registered as individuals working for pharmaceutical companies can also apply to be a standard committee member.

An electronic nomination form is available HERE. Forms must be submitted by midnight on Monday 28th September. Nominations require the support of two additional BOPA members.

If you wish to find out more about what being a committee member entails, please feel free to contact any of the current members of the committee. They can be contacted through the website at www.bopawebsite.org.

Please note that BOPA cannot offer remuneration to committee members, but travel expenses are reimbursed.
