‘Using Social Media in a personal capacity’ and ‘tweeting the evidence’
BOPA is developing our Digital Strategy (to be revealed at the Congress in Birmingham.) One of the considerations that BOPA Executive has is how social media and in particularly Twitter is being used for professional discussion/ feedback from congress/ and dissemination of new evidence. You can’t help notice how every meeting or event you go to these days has #hashtag to follow. Many of our professional leaders have a twitter ‘presence ‘ and big organisations increasingly use Twitter to communicate their strategies, data and news so it’s getting hard to avoid twitter if you want to keep up to date professionally.
We’ve just published hand-outs from two excellent short presentations on Twitter from National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Dissemination Centre. It will be a quick read and hopefully get you thinking about how you might benefit professional from using twitter.
