My Research Webinar 15th November 2023 – Shared experience from SIOG (International Society of Geriatric Oncology) Pharmacy Interest Group

We would like to invite you to join our  ‘My Research’ sessions. These sessions are delivered by members that have undertaken an audit or evaluation. They will spend time describing their career pathway and discuss the research methods that they used. There will be time for detailed questions following the talk. These sessions will enable members to learn about quantitative and qualitative methods and the learning may guide and help you in your future projects. We also hope that this will be a good opportunity to learn about different career pathways in cancer pharmacy.

 

The session will be delivered by: Darren Walsh & Chloé Herledan

 

Speaker Biographies:

Darren Walsh (MPSI) is a senior oncology/haematology pharmacist in University Hospital Waterford, and a PhD candidate and guest lecturer in the School of Pharmacy University College Cork. With experience in aseptic compounding, ward-based clinical pharmacy and medication optimisation in the outpatient setting, his research interests include medication optimisation for older adults with cancer, chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting, and medication management in cancer related dysphagia.

 

 

Chloé Herledan (PharmD, PhD) is an oncology pharmacist at Lyon Sud University Hospital (Hospices Civils de Lyon, France) and associate teacher at the University of Lyon. She is specialized in chemotherapy compounding, experimental drug management, and clinical pharmacy with a special interest in geriatric oncology. Her research focus on the development and evaluation of multidisciplinary interventions to optimize drug therapy in older patients with cancer.

-Webinars will start at 13:00 GMT and will last about 30 minutes to 1 hour
