Exec Committee Minutes for December 2018

The Minutes of the Executive Committee are published today.  In the last couple of years the Exec have tried to be very transparent about our discussions, so these are long detailed minutes.  There are three things to draw your attention to:

  1. Firstly the committee have made their first attempt at detailed financial planning, led by Rob our treasurer, we looked at what could happen in worst case scenario if BOPA financial flow was disrupted to ensure we can afford to invest in upgrading website and other activities

  2. Secondly we are pleased to confirm that after ISOPP19, BOPA20 will once again be run by Succinct and will be in Liverpool.   The future congress model after that will be subject to a consultation on what members on what you want and looking at congress providers to ensure BOPA is delivering getting best value.

  3. Finally you will read that Steve is stepping down as BOPA chair in March, due to a change in job role which meant Steve feels he has conflict of interest in chairing BOPA with his new role.  Steve will stay on committee until October 19.   The committee are delighted to announce we appointed interim co-chairs to cover until October 2019 when the next committee will form.   So from 1st of March 2019 your new BOPA co-chair are Seonaid McLachlan and Emma Foreman.  Look out for a newsletter in near future where Emma and Seonaid will introduce themselves properly.
