Introduction to Oncology Virtual Seminar Series – Seminar 1 (Oncological Emergencies)

Please familiarise yourselves with your local Neutropenic sepsis/hypercalcaemia and tumour lysis syndrome policies.

Message from the Speaker – Bruce Burnett:

For the introduction to oncology course Oncological Emergencies Session we normally try to compare different policies. This will be difficult to do in real time so if you are taking part please use your local policies to respond to two clinical cases – 2 parts for 2 different patients. You will not be able to see what others have posted until the session proper.

We will use Padlet, which allows users to post notes by clicking the ‘+’ below the answer column. Appropriate background information is available for each case (don’t ask for any more information!) to help you decide on the best action.
There are no wrong answers to these but we will try to discuss some of the differences in policy / approach. You will need to scroll to the right to make sure you have seen and answered all the questions

You can add your name or your hospital if you wish. We will share the Padlet wall after the session has run if everyone agrees to do so. Please do not share the link with non-BOPA members. The Padlet will be locked at 1pm on the day of the session so please try to answer these before then.
