Cancer pharmacists and consultant credentialing in Great Britain: an analysis of influencing factors and the impact of a dedicated support initiative

The study explored factors influencing cancer pharmacists’ progression through consultant-level credentialing and examined the impact of the BOPA Cancer Consultant Pharmacist Credentialing Webinar Series.

The findings identified several common barriers to credentialing, including time constraints, limited organisational support and lack of mentorship. Importantly, pharmacists who attended the BOPA webinar series were more likely to report progression with their credentialing portfolio than those who did not attend.

These findings reinforce the value of providing structured support, peer networking and practical guidance to pharmacists undertaking advanced and consultant credentialing.
