The aim of the BOPA Cancer Credentialing Advisory Group is to support the development and implementation of a national credentialing framework for cancer pharmacy professionals, aligned with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) standards. The group will promote excellence in patient care, the professional recognition of oncology pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, support career progression and advanced practice.
The Role of the Group:
To advise on the development and implementation of a national credentialing specialist advanced pharmacist curriculum for cancer pharmacy practice.
To provide subject matter expertise on oncology-specific competencies and practice areas to RPS and the wider credentialing programme where needed.
To develop guidance on mapping cancer practice to credentialing levels (e.g., Advanced and Consultant).
To coordinate the collection of anonymised case studies showcasing credentialed oncology pharmacists.
To promote engagement through credentialing support events (e.g., webinars, workshops).
To facilitate mentor matching within cancer credentialing, offering one to one advice and guidance for both pharmacists and managers.
To develop pharmacy technician-specific credentialing support in collaboration with the Pharmacy Technician group.
To work collaboratively with the BOPA Education Group and other relevant subcommittees.

There are several affiliated groups with BOPA. The groups and BOPA work together jointly to promote excellence in the pharmaceutical care of patients with cancer through education, communication, research or innovation.
There are several subcommittees & working groups that report directly to the Executive Committee each month. These subcommittees & working groups support the executive committee and keep the organisation at the forefront of care.
The Executive Committee work on behalf of the BOPA members to prioritise and co-ordinate the many activities and workstreams required to achieve our goals
