SUMMARY:Teenage and Young Adults (TYA) Study Day
DESCRIPTION:Overview \nTeenage and Young Adults (TYA) Study Day – TYA are more than their Cancer Diagnosis \nCancer in young people (16-25yr) is continuing to rise with 7 young people hearing ‘you have cancer’ each day across the UK. As services we are continually addressing the everchanging landscapes for TYAs and ensuring that their every changing needs are met with a holistic approach. \nAllied Health Professionals are key to meeting the breadth of needs of TYAs and this study day will focus on the holistic landscape of care for TYAs with Cancer. \nIntended Audience \nAllied Health Professionals including occupational therapists\, physiotherapists and complementary therapists. Youth support workers\, nurses and any other HCP’s working with TYA’s. \nWhat to expect \n\nOccupational Therapy – ‘Emerging from the Haze’ programme.\nPhysical activity provides more than rehab and prehab for TYAs- it’s a lifestyle!\nThe education and employment needs of TYAs during and following Cancer treatment\nThe role Complementary Therapies for TYA’s\nMock MDT panel with case studies\nPatient Experience\n\nLocation: \nThe Christie NHS Foundation Trust – Hybrid event \n£50 – £210.80
